The 12th Edition of the European Economic Congress, in which our Experts took part, has ended. It was the first such congress, organized in a hybrid formula. During the event, a number of key topics for the economy were discussed, which also required our attention.
In the opinion of our Experts, the first day of the event, which was held under the banner of Poland’s energy transformation, turned out to be the most interesting. A series of discussion panels devoted to the energy sector took place during the final stage of consultations conducted by the Ministry of Climate of the next edition of the Polish Energy Policy (PEP) draft until 2040.
The main conclusions resulting from the statements of individual panelists can be summarized as follows:
- biogas as a key area that will be developed in Poland in the coming years also in terms of planned investments – biomethane plants, i.e. a new segment of renewable energy sources;
- natural gas will be considered as a transition fuel, which justifies the continuation of the investment program launched in this segment in the period of discussions in Europe on the need to replace fossil gases with others;
- hydrogen and hydrogen projects as another right path for the development of the alternative fuels segment in Poland;
- the distance and offshore act as the most urgent legislative issue in the wind industry.
